The Spore House answers to the character of the American housing market: a house is a financial asset as well as a home. Every 5 to 7 years, on average, a home owner sells his house. The inherent expandability of Spore House adds to its resell value. With a square footage ranging from 1917 sq.ft to 2819 sq.ft. it is suitable for smaller and larger families and their financial abilities.

With this house one gets a set (or rather 4 sets) of possibilities in ones hands - designed in 4 phases, each phase “foresees” new additions and offers changes to the existing with minimal disturbance, waste, and effort.

This project is suitable for the
6 following scenarios:

(a) the “core house” is all that is needed;
(b) the “core house” satisfies the current needs, but a larger house is anticipated in the future;
(c) the house is initially built as phase 2 and can be expanded to phase 3 and 4;
(d) the house is initially built as phase 3 and can be expanded to phase 4;
(e) the house is initially built as phase 4;
(f) The initial owners do not intend to build any further phases but their lot and house have increased value, because the future owners can expand the house according to the pre-existing architect’s plans.
