Elementary school 1st-8th grade + 2 sports halls Zagreb, Croatia 2008 This small site, surrounded by streets, allowed for no exterior school space. By placing the school building and sportshall on the edges of the site, we created a well-defined school yard used for: - play ground - entrance space - meeting place - parent access and waiting space - outside dining space for the cafeteria - visual connection to sports hall - elevated lookout into the neighborhood - library access The space underneath the base serves as a connection to the sportshall and changing rooms, as well as staff and utility spaces. Class rooms are organized to achieve optimal sun exposure.
